Securing the Vehicle

  • This trailer is supplied with Lasso Straps. Below are written instructions for using these straps.

    1. Position the Vehicle Properly:

      1. Drive the vehicle onto the trailer, centering it over the axles to ensure weight distribution.

      2. Engage the parking brake and place the vehicle in park (or in gear for a manual transmission).

    2. Prepare the Lasso Straps:

      1. Unwind the lasso straps and inspect them for any signs of wear or damage before use.

      2. Locate the lasso loop on the strap, ensuring it’s free from twists.

    3. Wrap the Lasso Strap Around the Tire:

      1. Slide the looped end of the strap over the top of the tire at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock position.

      2. Adjust the loop so it wraps snugly around the tire, making sure it grips firmly in the middle of the tread.

    4. Feed the Strap Through the Ratchet:

      1. Take the free end of the strap and feed it through the ratchet mechanism.

      2. Pull it through to remove slack but do not tighten it yet.

    5. Anchor the Ratchet to the Trailer:

      1. Attach the ratchet’s hook or anchor point to a secure spot on the trailer’s frame or D-rings. D-rings can be moved as needed.

      2. Ensure the attachment point is directly aligned with the tire for even tension.

    6. Tighten the Strap:

      1. Use the ratchet mechanism to tighten the strap until the tire is securely held in place.

      2. Avoid overtightening, as this can damage the tire or the strap.

    7. Repeat for All Tires:

      1. Repeat the process for each tire, ensuring all lasso straps are evenly secured.

      2. Double-check that each strap is properly aligned and tensioned.

    8. Perform a Final Inspection:

      1. Ensure all straps are tight and the vehicle is stable.

      2. Shake the vehicle slightly to confirm it is immovable.

    9. Secure Loose Ends:

      1. Tuck or tie off any loose strap ends to prevent them from flapping during transport.

Stop periodically during transport to inspect and retighten straps as needed.
